There are special moments in sports and animal life, which we remember more than others.
They are unique moments. A special event. A fast, exhilarating visual experience.
One that may reoccur, or one that we may be seeing for the only time. An iconic moment
is a good image that is imprinted in our memory. It never goes away.
The techniques I use to create my iconic images are ancient: Chasing and Repousse.
A genre does not exist for the way in which I create and paint these images in the medium of copper,
a canvas that destructs at 2000 degrees fahrenheit. During the 1970’s, I learned these techniques by apprenticing and working in a Florentine silver factory. I developed and trade marked the genre of chased paintings as a result of 35 years of industry experience, and 27 years of teaching. I also make my own tools.
